You have probably heard the news that Queen Elizabeth II, England's longest reigning monarch, has died at the age of 96. This set off a week long media campaign leading up to the grand funeral. Like any head of state, there was the good and the bad, especially for one who ruled for so long. We can honor her legacy, while also discussing the harm caused by British colonialism. But in the end, it's important to acknowledge her huge presence and affect on western culture.
